DOHA, Qatar (AP) Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has reached the Qatar Open semifinals for the second year in a row after brushing aside unseeded Albert Ramos of Spain 6-2, 6-1 on Thursday.
The sixth-ranked Tsonga, who struggled to three-set wins in his first two matches, will face either Roger Federer or Andreas Seppi of Italy.
Tsonga was threatened only once in the quarterfinal, saving two break points to go up 3-1 in the second set.
In other quarters, Rafael Nadal plays Mikhail Youzhny, while Gael Monfils meets Viktor Troicki of Serbia.
