Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is close to passing American Mardy Fish for seventh place in the ATP points race, with the top 8 qualifying for the World Tour Finals in London. Juan Martin del Potro has put himself within striking distance of both Tsonga and Fish. The French and the Argentine will face off in the final at the Vienna Open.
If Tsonga bests Del Potro, he’ll move ahead of Fish, as he can add 160 points to his overall total. No. 15 Del Potro can add 230 points by winning the title. He’ll at least move into the 11th spot in the race, ahead of Gilles Simon. Fish is playing next week in Basel, where he will look to add points.
