Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has hired two French compatriots, Thierry Ascione and Nicolas Escude, to be his new coaches. Tsonga recently split with Australian coach Roger Rasheed, who is now coaching Grigor Dimitrov. Ascione and Escude will also continue working with Nicolas Mahut.

“We have been in touch for a while now,” Tsonga told reporters. “We have agreed on a project for my training and I am happy to begin this new adventure. The fact that there are two coaches means I’ll have two different points of view.

“Our new partnership will change nothing for Nico. When one coach is with me at a tournament, the other will be with him. When we are both playing the same tournament, well, they’ll both be there!”
