Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is hitting again, and wants to return to the tour at the hard-court Masters events in Indian Wells and Miami.

The Frenchman has been sidelined with an arm injury since the beginning of the season. Tsonga was affected by the injury during the Davis Cup final as well as the preceding tournaments, and re-aggravated it in the team competition.

Tsonga will not play the first round of Davis Cup, but told L'Equipe that he is not far from a return.

"I am more or less aiming for the American tournaments. If everything goes well, I will play Indian Wells," he said. "I hope in any case to play Miami."

Tsonga is No. 12 in the ATP rankings.
