Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Michael Llodra both take substantial leaps in their Wimbledon seedings from their current rankings. Tsonga, who reached the 2010 Wimbledon quarterfinals and the Queen's Club final last week, is ranked No. 19 but will be seeded No. 12. Llodra, who won Eastbourne last year, rises from No. 25 to No. 19. No. 30 Janko Tipsarevic jumped to No. 23 after reaching the final of s'-Hertogenbosch in 2010.
In other adjustments, Canadian Milos Raonic dropped five spots to No. 31, David Nalbandian dropped four spots to No. 28, Juan Ignacio Chela dropped five spots to No. 25 and Richard Gasquet dropped four spots to No. 17. Last year’s finalist, No. 8 Tomas Berdych, replaced David Ferrer at No. 7.
The seeds are determined by taking the top 32 players from the ATP tour and rearranging them based on a surface-based calculation, as follows: Take a player’s ATP points as of June 13, 2011, add 100% of the points earned for all grass-court tournaments in the past 12 months, and add 75% of the points earned for the best grass-court tournament in the 12 months before that.
The club made only two changes to the WTA ranking list, with four-time champion Serena Williams and five-time champion Venus Williams moving to Nos. 7 and No. 23, respectively,
