Here's a sampling of the latest social-media foibles and feats from pro tennis players and observers:

This Sabbath meant "Halle-lujah," indeed, for Roger Federer, who seized his record eighth title at the ATP World Tour's grass-court event in Halle, Germany. Fitting.

Few may recall it a decade or even a year from now, but Federer nearly went down in his 2015 grass-season opener against the always-cagey Philipp Kohlschreiber. The German ultimately succumbed in a 7-6, 3-6, 7-6 thriller that saw this entertaining point:

Meanwhile, in Birmingham, England, Angelique Kerber-ed the enthusiasm of Karolina Pliskova, snatching her sixth career WTA tour title.

Laura Robson, out for 17 months due to a wrist injury, returned to competition this past week. It proved a rude reintroduction:

Ivo Karlovic stared down Tomas Berdych in Halle, breaking the record for most aces in a best-of-three ATP match with 45! Berdych was quick to congratulate "Dr. Ivo," and Kristina Mladenovic also weighed in on the matter:

As the week began, before one smashed a record and the other netted a title, Karlovic sent up Murray in a hilarious head-to-head comparison.

Pity poor Belinda Bencic, who got a grass-match awakening against Sabine Lisicki, who pounced on her own aces record this week, namely serving 27 in a single women's match. (And by carrying a 6-1, 7-6 scoreline in victory, she did so in straight sets, at that.)

Chelsea soccer boss Jose Mourinho met up with Andy Murray after the latter's Queen's Club victory against Gilles Muller. Whatever their exchange contained, it worked: Murray went on to claim the title, a sterling lead-in to his 2015 Wimbledon campaign.

Good tennis coaches teach their charges to learn the split step. This is not it:

Tennis fans can be scathing in their sendups. They can also be spot on.

Gilles Simon certainly has a doppelgänger in Deutschland:

Berdych, Stan Wawrinka, and 2015 Queen's Club finalist Kevin Anderson certainly make for an odd troika of head-to-head records, as seen here:

Brit James Ward led the pack as sartorial wonders went in London this past week. Mercifully, this look won't past Wimbledon's standards, although Ward, like Wawrinka before him, scores points for trying on something new.

Speaking of Stan, his notorious shorts are on full display now, even if another set of them will soon go to "a lucky follower."

Away from Twitter, retired British pro turned commentator Anne Keothavong announced on Instagram that she's pregnant. (She married in early 2015.)
