I want to remind those who would plan or would like to attend the Friday night, August 31st gathering (in Manattan) to RSVP to Heidi; the deadline for responding is Tuesday (tomorrow) night, 9 PM. For those of you who have RSVP'd, you will soon be receiving an email with further details. And tomorrow, and henceforth, anyone interested in hooking up with fellow Tribe members can swing by the statue honoring Arthur Ashe, just inside the South Gate and near the Court of Champions, at the hours of 1, 3 or 5 PM. It's all very catch-as-catch-can, but I plan to see Ruth there tomorrow, for sure.
Snoo Foo proves prescient: I got this email from her yesterday: Here’s a picture of Tsvetana Pironkova and her brother Encho. And his mullet. Which should have a name of its own. But anyway. Her brother is also her hitting partner. She made it through the qualleez and she’s playing tomorrow on Court 16, 2nd match after 11. I’m quite fond of her which means she is prolly cursed to a Danilidouvian career trajectory, which isn’t too shabby in the grand scheme of things but, meh. This picture is sort of dedicated to ptenisnet, my fellow admirer of Encho’s mullet. I just really like this picture.
Turns out that Tsvetana and Encho (does this dude have Bunnymen, too?) had it going on yesterday. She hammered Olga Poutchkova. and is now in Round 2. Enjoy your moment in the sun, Tsveta, you are the woman in the arena!
