!90197582 Howdy. I'll have a post from special guest Andrew Friedman a little later today, as I'll be getting out to the USTABJKNTC a little later than usual today.  In addition to watching India's finest yesterday, I did catch some of Roger Federer's beatdown of promising American rookie Devin Britton. Read Britton's presser, if you get the chance - it's charming. The part I liked best is the brief exchange Britton and Federer had at the net as they shook hands. When Britton was asked what Federer said to him, he answered honestly: "He just told me, 'Good luck with your career.' You know, there's not much time to talk then, but he did say that. That was nice."

Agreed. I'm not nominating Federer for canonization based on that anecdote, but isn't it good to see that degree of class from a player of Federer's status?

My second favorite comment was Britton's assessment of The Mighty Fed's forehand: "His forehand is just crazy, I tried to keep it away, but sometimes I just hit it there - just to see it."

It was a delightful confession that only a kid could make, but I'm pretty sure the kid will be ground out of Britton in short order by the rigors of the tour.  That's just how it is, but it's still nice to get what glimpses we can into a heart as yet untainted by the realism and all-business sensibility that inevitably settles on most successful players.

Anyway, you know what to do next - I'll see y'all tomorrow afternoon.
