Venus Williams says that she wants to play in the the United States' first round Fed Cup tie against Belgium in Antwerp next February. Williams, who absent in the final round loss to Italy earlier this month due to a knee injury, said she was too upset to watch the final.
"It's been tough to be out so I decided I couldn't watch any more tennis," she told Reuters. "I desperately wanted to turn on the television and watch the Fed Cup but it was like: 'At this point, maybe I should just let it go. It was frustrating. But I really want to play the tie next year, the U.S. against Belgium. I have to be healthy but I would love to be there."
The American added that she’d also like to win mixed doubles titles at Wimbledon and the U.S. Open.—Matthew Cronin
