In yesterday's third round at Indian Wells, Mona Barthel of Germany ousted Serbia's Ana Ivanovic. She did so in typical WTA fashion, by the bipolar score of 6-1, 3-6, 6-0. Fittingly, No. 24 Barthel's victory over the No. 11 was accompanied by an all-but-artistic volley deep in the match, termed the BNP Paribas Open Hot Shot of the Day:
