Reports of this friendship have not been greatly exaggerated. It turns out that Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki are nearly inseparable these days, from serving as each other's well-heeled arm candy at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards to ice-skating at Rockefeller Center. Doesn't Caro want a breather after her illustrious 3:26 finish in Sunday's New York City Marathon? It appears not. If these two sing karaoke again soon—and they probably will before the month (week?) is out—they might choose Miley Cyrus' indefatigable "We Don't Stop."

First, attending the fashion show in style, Serena stepped out in a Zac Posen dress that—where to start?—looks jaw-droppingly amazing. Her toned figure and the gown's color amaze. (And I'm not one to overuse that word.) What was laughable was the frock's full name (and deep breath): ZAC Zac Posen Resort 2015 Midnight Blue Stretch Satin Crepe Plunging V Neck Gown. That takes a lot of verve, Mr. Posen.

Wozniacki looked similarly fabulous in a fuchsia-hued number that accentuates her obviously incredibly fit physique. Serena met up with Posen in passing, snapped a selfie (of course), and talked shop with Wozniacki and designer Stella McCartney, who has used Woz as a muse with Adidas attire to date. (Now, Caroline, it's time to learn proper selfie technique. You're adjacent to one of the best—learn!)

Williams and Wozniacki also took in a New York Knicks game in Madison Square Garden recently, the site of some Serena victories over time. To Serena's left: Spike Lee, who (sort of) shielded the pair from a stray basketball at one point. International soccer star Thierry Henry also appeared at the NBA contest.

In tandem with that starry event, the two slipped into some ice skates and took to Rockefeller Center's ballyhooed rink for some not-quite figure 8s:

Serena moved smoothly on that cold, hard surface while Caro proved to be—how to say it?—a cow on ice. Serena's skating was so good, as it turns out, that even a star of that sport such as two-time Olympic medalist Michelle Kwan felt compelled to respond.

Still, the two enjoyed a hilarious romp, with Wozniacki seeking to stay on her two legs and Serena effortlessly spinning and marching on. It was a 10-second clip that sort of served as a microcosm of their fall hard-court seasons.
