Now that the season in women's tennis has wound down completely, WTA may stand for "Withdrawal 'Til Auckland."

Even so, for those facing the shriek shortage, the WTA site has a "Linking Back" piece in two parts (here and here) that splendidly recaps the season. Lest we forget, in January alone, Justine Henin retired again and—for the first time in WTA history—players repping 10 different nations took residence in the Top 10.

That's right, exactly 29 minutes of sterling tennis—all from this year's women's finals. Lots of captivating and worthy stuff. And it's just good to see Julia Goerges's father, Klaus, again as he reacts at the 1:48 mark to his daughter's scintillating "get" against the tour's No. 1 "getter," Caroline Wozniacki. It's likewise amusing, in its way, that you can hear Maria Sharapova's shrieks over the video montage's pumping music.
