Matteo Berrettini was a little too excited when he thought that his semifinal appearance was sealed.

Throwing his racquet on the ground, raising his hands in a sign of victory, and walking up to the net after the Italian thought he aced Felix Auger-Aliassime to seal the quarterfinal victory. Berrettini was quickly told to get back to the baseline; the match wasn’t over yet.

While Berrettini thought that he earned an ace, he actually hit a let and couldn’t hear it over the cheers of the crowd. The Italian himself, his girlfriend Ajla Tomljanovic, Auger-Aliassime, and even the umpire started smiling and laughing as everyone realized the mistake.

In the end, the 25-year-old managed to earn his semifinal matchup against Hubert Hurkacz, landing the second Grand Slam semifinal appearance of his career. While he may have given away his celebration, it was surely just as sweet the second time around.
