The fifth seed stepped to the line to serve against top seed Lorenzo Musetti and his 223 kilometer-per-hour ace not only kept him in contention for the win, it also scored a viral moment in Brussels:

Undaunted by the moment, Mpetshi Perricard continued to serve bombs against Musetti to ultimately secure a 6-4, 7-6 (8) victory over the Italian. Mpetshi Perricard had lost his previous four matches to Musetti, including two hard-court clashes in the last two months at the US Open and China Open.

Mpetshi Perricard improved to 4-0 in ATP quarterfinals, booking himself a meeting with No. 3 seed Jiri Lehecka. Lehecka came back from a set down against Benjamin Bonzi and prevented an all-French semifinal when Bonzi was forced to retire trailing 6-7 (8), 6-1, 4-1.

Mpetshi Perricard and Leheca only played once before, the latter winning a third-set tiebreaker on clay at an ATP Challenegr in Liberec, Czech Republic.
