Go easy on her!

Marta Kostyuk cut the tension during her second-round match at the China Open with an unusual request: not for on-court staff, but for the tournament DJ.

Facing Germany's Ella Siedel on Saturday, Kostyuk was in command from first ball to last in the 6-1, 6-1 victory—between the white lines, that is.

But one thing the Ukrainian wasn't in control of? The sounds that blared from the in-stadium speakers.

And when Adele's emotional ballad "Go Easy on Me" piped through Brad Drewett Court, Kostyuk made it clear to chair umpire Yamilla Halle that she wanted to hear a song with more spirit.

"Can we have happier music?" she was heard requesting in a clip that spead quickly online.

Kostyuk's comment drew laughter from the crowd and even a smile from her opponent, a 20-year-old qualifier making her China Open debut.

The world No. 28 is famously tuned in to music on the match court. Last year at the Olympics, for example, she went viral for dancing to "Uptown Funk" when Donna Vekic took a bathroom break before the third set of their hotly-contested quarterfinal in a similarly-viral scene.

But will a new playlist spark Kostyuk to a career-best China Open run? The No. 23 seed faces qualifier Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the third round on Monday, hoping to reach the round of 16 for the first time.
