"This ... is a chick car."

So says Serena Williams, as she kicks off MINI's new TV commercial for its Clubman vehicle. The ad will appear during Super Bowl 50 on Feb. 7. She's joined in the spot by recently retired soccer star Abby Wambach.

The advertisement's theme is "Defy Labels," which the Australian Open finalist does via the words she intones, even as Wambach directly follows her with an even more potent statement: "This ... is a 'gay' car" (air quotes hers).

These two legendary sportswomen inhabit the ad alongside Hall of Fame pitcher Randy Johnson; actor Harvey Keitel; skateboarder extraordinaire Tony Hawk, racecar-driving prodigy Michai Stephens; rapper T-Pain; the towering Michael Whinnet, and more notables.

"The idea is about fighting stereotypes about the car, but also stereotypes and labels in general," said Mark Krajan, the 30-second ad's creative director.

In short, mission accomplished.
