An appeal by Flemish anti-doping authorities against the lifted bans of Yanina Wickmayer and Xavier Malisse will not be heard until April 2011. Both players are free to keep playing until the appeal is decided.

Wickmayer and Malisse were suspended last year by a Flemish anti-doping tribunal for not providing whereabouts information as required by anti-doping rules, but a Belgian court provisionally lifted the one-year bans pending a final ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Both players had appealed the suspension to CAS, which has also received an opposing appeal from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) asking for the players to be given a two-year ban.

In a previous statement about her situation, Wickmayer said her violation was the result of a lack of communication from Belgian anti-doping authorities and technical problems logging into the system.
