A local chamber of commerce is planning a tennis walk of fame in Wimbledon Village, near the All England Club where the tournament is held. According to the Wimbledon Guardian, the project is designed to help promote Wimbledon as one of the venues of the 2012 Olympics in London.
Officials also intend to invite the players being honored to take part in the ceremonies. The plaques will feature handprints and signatures of famous tennis stars.
