Iga Swiatek vs. Elena Rybakina

🤜 Head to Head: Swiatek leads 6-4 (4-0 in 2025)

  • Swiatek d. Rybakina, 7-6 (5), 6-4 – 2025 United Cup semifinals
  • Swiatek d. Rybakina, 6-2, 7-5 – 2025 Doha quarterfinals
  • Swiatek d. Rybakina, 1-6, 6-3, 7-5, 2025 Roland Garros fourth round
  • Swiatek d. Rybakina, 7-5, 6-3, 2025 Cincinnati semifinals

After a dominant opening victory over Madison Keys, 2023 WTA Finals champion Iga Swiatek could be the first from the Serena Williams Group to reach the semifinals should she score a fifth straight win over Elena Rybakina on Monday—and if Keys defeats Amanda Anisimova -or- if Swiatek wins in straight sets and Anisimova wins in three.

Though she cannot reclaim the No. 1 ranking this week, Swiatek continued her second-half surge in Riyadh, avenging an Australian Open semifinal loss to Keys in just over an hour and losing just five points behind her first serve.

In a group full of heavy hitters, Swiatek has quickly emerged the favorite given her turn in head-to-head against Rybakina, who was the last woman to qualify thanks to a winning stretch through the Asia Swing. Rybakina was once one of Swiatek's biggest rivals, winning four of their first six meetings, but the Kazakh has fallen behind in a big way in 2025 with the loss of all four matches this season. Still, Rybakina was close to beating Swiatek on her best surface earlier this year in Paris, and scored an efficient win of her own against Anisimova to kick off her Riyadh campaign.

Amanda Anisimova vs. Madison Keys

🤜 Head to Head: First Meeting

This all-American clash could be a must-win match for both Anisimova and Keys, who each found themselves on the back foot after opening losses to Elena Rybakina and Iga Swiatek, respectively.

Anisimova arrived in Riyadh with plenty of momentum, having won her second WTA 1000 title of the season at the China Open last month. Conversely, Keys had been off the court since a first-round loss at the US Open; though she captured a long-awaited maiden major title at the Australian Open, the 30-year-old saw her results tail off as the season went on. Still, both looked to be potential favorites for the title given the indoor conditions.

In a battle of first-strike tennis, fortune will favor the brave in this high-stakes clash.
