Hi everyone, as promised, here's the separate thread for discussing the second singles match of the Davis Cup final, featuring Feliciano Lopez (Spain) and Juan Martin del Potro (Argentina). David Nalbandian played a superb match, I thought, and the command performance might have done enough to take the wind out of the sails of the Spanish. And that's the role of a high-quality Davis Cup veteran - to impose a certain measure of authority and realism (for Nalbandian is one of the better hard court players of the era) on the proceedings. Or to put it another, simpler way, to lead. I'd say Lopez has his work cut out for him! Meanwhile, let me dig around for a nice image of Guillermo Vilas, who almost single-handedly launched Argentina's tennis boom. I know GVgirl won't have a problem with that!
