ZipRecruiter Player Resume: Elena Rybakina

Coming off her Indian Wells win, Elena Rybakina returned to a 1000-level final just two weeks later in Miami, on her quest for the impressive Sunshine Double.

Having won her first Grand Slam title at Wimbledon last year, Rybakina has quickly established herself as a force atop the WTA tour. She plays with passion and fight, but does so with grace. Above all, she recognizes the fortunate position she's in.

“I love tennis,” Rybakina told WTA Insider Courtney Nguyen in a 2020 interview. “It was always a game for me. Even now, I don’t think it’s a job. It was always a game and if I cannot do something I like to improve it, to fix it. I love everything in tennis.”

Endorsements from Adidas, Yonex and Bank RBK have helped support Rybakina's journey up the ranks, and as she gains more experience—and collects more titles—others will surely follow.

She was close to another at the Australian Open, where she came up just short against Aryna Sabalenka. But Rybakina has turned the tables since, and it wouldn't be any surprise if she follows her 1000-level success with more triumphs on the Grand Slam stage.

Ryabkina is the first player from Kazakhstan to win a major title, an achievement and inspiration all in itself—but this is all just the beginning. There is plenty more to see and enjoy in Rybakina’s journey as her career progresses.
