The Russian went to battle with Maxime Cressy and himself out on Margaret Court Arena. He said some things he regretted in the heat of the moment, but still dug deep to take a 6-2, 7-6 (4), 6-7 (4), 7-5 win. He faces Felix Auger-Aliassime in the quarterfinals.

The American is back into the last eight Down Under for the first time since 2019. She stayed strong to grab a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Elise Mertens.

The Canadian pulled out a 2-6, 7-6 (7), 6-2, 7-6 (4) win against 2018 Aussie Open finalist Marin Cilic. He's through to his first quarterfinal Down Under and has reached the last eight at the past three majors.

Despite going down 3-5 in the second set, the American and Aussie duo captured a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Marta Kostyuk and Dayana Yastremska to reach the quarterfinals.
