World No. 1 Serena Williams found herself in the midst of a rather routine first-round match at Roland Garros on Tuesday. She led Andrea Hlavackova, a player she has blasted in past matches, 3-0, and was chasing a well-executed lob by the Czech qualifier and doubles specialist, into the backcourt.

After a quick yelp of surprise, Serena burst into laughter, pressing a palm to her face and nearly doubling over at the humorous embarrassment of it all.
After that nine-stroke rally ended by an unintended body shot, Serena ultimately overcame Hlavackova, and her own depth perception, by a 6-2, 6-3 count. Serena will next square off against No. 103 Anna-Lena Friedsam of Germany.
