Milos Raonic, who lost in straight sets in the Wimbledon final to Andy Murray, said that he was proud to reach the final.

He beat 17-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer in five sets in the semifinals, and came back from two sets down against David Goffin to reach the quarterfinals.

“I stepped up in a semifinal,” said Raonic, who lost, 6-4, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (2), to Murray on Sunday. “I stepped up. I did a great thing there. Came back from two sets to love down, which is a first time for me. I showed guts. I showed vigor. I've got to carry that through to the next events.”

The 25-year-old Raonic had his only break points against Murray in the third set, but he could not grab the game.

“Obviously, it does come down a lot of the time to a few important points,” Raonic said. “That was probably the most clear look I had. I had a sense that if I could have gotten ahead there, maybe I could have turned it around a bit.”
