A three-Slam drought only made the Wimbledon title bigger for Serena Williams, who had not captured a major since Wimbledon last year.

Going for the calendar-year Grand Slam in 2015, the world No. 1 shockingly fell to Roberta Vinci in the semifinals of the U.S Open.

At the Australian Open in January, she fell to Angelique Kerber in the final. At the French Open she was upset in the final yet again, this time losing to Garbine Muguruza. But against Kerber in the Wimbledon final, she was completely locked in.

''If anything, I was able to show resilience that, no, that's not going to shake me,” Williams said. “You're not going to break me. [You’re] going to make me stronger.”

Williams now has Grand Slam No. 22, tied with Steffi Graf. The 34-year-old insists she is not yet turning her attention to the record of 24 Grand Slams, held by Margaret Court.

“One thing I learned about last year is to enjoy the moment,” she said. “I'm definitely going to enjoy this."
