Hola!

I've just landed in Mexico after a 14 hour travel day from Drummondville to Guadalajara and I'm writing this while I take a taxi to my hotel. Big contrast again from last week, switching from indoors and cold, with the snow... to altitude, outdoors, and hot temperatures.

First, let's talk about last week. Again I had a tough week in singles, losing to Tim Puetz, a guy I have actually lost to previously. I feel like my serve let me down during this match and it's something I'm working on as I come into this week. On a positive note, I was able to win the doubles title with my partner Adil Shamasdin, from Canada. We somehow got through the semi final saving match points, and the final being down 7-2 in the third set tiebreak. So, that was a nice way to finish the week.

I also had our Davis Cup strength and conditioning coach in Canada with me, which, after losing early, gave me the chance to get some good physical work done and make the most of the week. He has gone back to Australia now and, as the guys finish their next tournaments, we will all head back to prepare for our Davis Cup tie against the USA.

In other news, I finally got the keys to my house (technically I don't have them yet but the house is ours now!) in Melbourne that I bought during the offseason. My sister had a baby in November and is off work and she is going to be there for the next few days for when our furniture gets delivered. So, hopefully when I get home next I will have a house that can be lived in!

I'm also close to finalizing my coaching situation moving forward which is good news. I wouldn't start with anyone until the clay season, so it gives me a few more weeks to work that all out.

I have a tough draw this week - against former top 15 player Jerzy Janowicz, who is on his way back from injury. Hopefully, this will be the week I can start to turn my singles fortunes around! I'll keep you all updated on how the week goes.
