The Memphis Open is moving to Long Island, according to the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

Neither the organizers or the ATP responded to the newspaper's request for comment.

The tournament was purchased by NY-based GF Sports in 2015, but has not found a title sponsor for the event in Memphis, apparently a key part of the decision not to stay in the city.

The tournament has changed hands several times in recent years, being bought by San Jose-based Sharks Sports and Entertainment in 2008 and then switched from a 500 to a 250 level event in 2014 before being bought the following year by the USTA, which wanted to keep the event from leaving the country.

The most recent champion was Ryan Harrison, who won his first title at the event.

The Appeal did not say whether the change has been approved by the ATP board of directors, as required for an event to change locations.
