The Citi Open has been an exciting tournament this year in Washington, and the doubles kept up that trend with Kontinen and Peers taking the championship title. The first set was a tense one as the two teams battled it out in a tiebreaker before the first seeds managed to claw out a win, 7-6 (7-5).

They were able to find their groove and made the second set a much easier affair, keeping eyes on the entire court and using excellent footwork to take hold of points early on, taking the set 6-4, after a break. This is the first Citi Open title for the pair.
