Stanislas Wawrinka hasn’t necessarily had a season to remember, as the three-time Grand Slam champion was knocked out in the first round at Wimbledon and an August knee surgery forced him to miss the US Open.

The 32-year-old did, however, take to his social media accounts to reveal that he is now off crutches.

Wawrinka, who had previously announced he would not play for the rest of the season, also indicated that he plans to start training again.

The 32-year-old reached the final of the French Open, but had been experiencing significant pain over the course of the summer. He is one of several top players that are currently shelved with an injury, joining Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic and Kei Nishikori.

Wawrinka has dropped to No. 9 in the rankings.
