Lucas Pouille is giving Tommy Haas a try as his coach for the Australian Open, according to the L'Equipe newspaper.

Haas watched Pouille's match at the Kooyong exhibition event alongside the Frenchman's regular coach, Emmanuel Planque, and the rest of his team.

"We are trying here at the Australian Open," Pouille said.

Haas has not previously coached a player on tour. The recently retired German is also the tournament director of Indian Wells.
