Ana Ivanovic has given birth to her first child, announcing on social media that she and her husband, Bastian Schweinsteiger, have had a son.

The former WTA player has named the boy Luka, according to press, choosing a local Chicago hospital for the delivery.

"Words can not describe the joy and the happiness we feel in our hearts," said Ivanovic.

The couple married in 2016, with Ivanovic retiring that season.

Ivanovic and Schweinsteiger are now based in Chicago, where Schweinsteiger plays for Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire.
