It's well-documented that Rafael Nadal is a superstitious champion on court. That however, does not mean he is a perfectionist.

"I don’t believe in perfection," Nadal said. "I believe that you can always go on court with the goal to do something better."

The 11-time French Open champion is as close to perfect as one gets in Paris. Nadal improved to an astonishing 89-2 on Friday after defeating David Goffin in four sets to reach the fourth round.

His 2019 tournament got off to an interesting start, when the Spaniard hit his head on a camera while walking out for his introduction. It brought comparisons to 2017 Wimbledon, when Nadal smacked the ceiling of the No.1 Court tunnel during his pre-match routine.

"Wimbledon was my fault, 100 percent," laughed Nadal. "Here was the fault of the camera. It was moving to the side when I was going. I went on this court a couple times and it never happened. Something [changed] with that camera."

Nadal later revealed the incident resulted in a cut on his head. The 32-year-old will meet Juan Ignacio Londero in the round of 16 on Sunday. Londero is making his major debut.
