Dustin Brown (ATP No. 170, UTR No. 280) vs. Felix Auger-Aliassime (ATP No. 21, UTR No. 17)

Brown has shown his game is capable of delivering big moments on grass courts. Auger-Aliassime is playing in his first ATP Tour event on the surface this week and is finding immediate success. The two will collide Friday in an intriguing Stuttgart quarterfinal that is bursting to provide shot-making and an increase in popcorn consumption.

Brown, who saw his 2018 season hampered by a back injury, secured his first Top 10 victory since February 2017 when he ousted countryman Alexander Zverev on Thursday. Ranked No. 170 and needing to qualify, Brown feels at home here in more than one way: he loves coming forward and doesn’t back down from trying to end points on his terms. Brown saved 13 of the 14 break points he faced in his win over Zverev.

The German’s counterpart, Auger-Aliassime, is back this week after a left adductor injury forced him out of Roland Garros. The 18-year-old, nearly half Brown’s age, should have the upper hand in mobility. Auger-Aliassime is equally as capable of taking aggressive measures to dictate play and has been proficient on his first serve thus far, winning over 82 percent of those points. However, he hasn’t had many glimpses at a serve and volley tactic played on loop.

Look for Brown to continue his inspired play and prevail in three entertaining sets over the No. 7 seed.
