Kristina Mladenovic and coach Sascha Bajin have split, with the Frenchwoman saying it was Bajin's decision.

"I enjoyed our work, we had some big wins and I truly felt my game was on the rise again. I think that there was a lot more to achieve together but I can't change his opinion," she said.

The two first began working together on a trial basis in Miami, following Bajin's surprise split with former world No. 1 Naomi Osaka, a little more than two weeks after their second Grand Slam triumph at the Australian Open. An official coaching partnership was announced  before the claycourt season.

Mladenovic has improved from No. 68 to No. 39 in the rankings during the pairing.
