“Every since she started doing well at the US Open, Australian Open, I’ve really wanted to play her,” Bianca Andreescu said of Naomi Osaka after her third-round victory over American Jennifer Brady in Beijing. “I'm really happy that I get to play her tomorrow because I think it's going to be a lot of fun," she added.

While Andreescu is understandably excited to face the two-time major champion, she can’t possibly be as excited as tennis fans around the world. This is a matchup everyone has been waiting for.

Andreescu is in the midst of a 17-match win streak, and she hasn’t lost a completed match since March 1st in Acapulco. It was well documented at the US Open that her career record against Top-10 players increased to 8-0, by far her most impressive statistic to date. The 19-year-old is in the zone and has even herself admitted “I kind of forgot how it feels to lose, which I think is a good thing.” It’s certainly not a bad thing.

Osaka will enter the arena in fantastic form herself. The world No. 4 triumphed on home soil in Osaka just under two weeks ago and has won the past 14 sets she's played to bring her own seven-match unbeaten streak into this blockbuster showdown. If anyone can halt Andreescu right now, it’s likely Osaka, who at her best, can hit a clean winner on any given stroke.

The oddsmakers favor the Canadian but just ever so slightly. Andreescu will lose again eventually, but until she does, will be favored against anyone. Don’t forget to set your alarm, as this encounter has serious match of the year potential.
