Laura Robson has become yet another player to undergo hip surgery, announcing that she is having a second operation.
The 25-year-old from Great Britain, who had her first surgery a year and a half ago, has been sidelined again for most of this season. The former top junior also had wrist surgery a few years ago.
One more op for luck... After months of struggling through all the rehab and treatments available, a decision was made this week to have another hip surgery & try fix the pain for good. Very much hope to be back on court soon but in the meantime I can’t wait to walk my dog without limping. Small victories ????
A decision was made this week to undergo another hip operation in attempt to "fix the pain for good," Robson wrote on social media.
She said her first goal was to walk pain-free, but added, "Very much hope to be back on court soon."
Hip surgeries appear to have become all the rage, of sorts. Most prominently, Andy Murray won a tournament following a second hip procedure, but Bob Bryan also returned from a similar surgery to lift more doubles titles and Nenad Zimonjic began playing doubles again with not one but both hips surgically repaired.
Robson did not go into detail concerning the surgery or provide further plans.
