The ATP Tour has cancelled four Challenger events in China due to concerns about coronavirus.

The Chinese government has placed restrictions on public activities and travel in some parts of the country to contain the threat.

The events, which were to be played in March, consist of the $50,000 event in Qujing, the $80,000 event in Zhuhai, the $90,000 event in Shenzhen, and the $80,000 event in Zhangjiagang, all scheduled in consecutive weeks.

Another four events in April, including a $125,000 Challenger in Taiwan, are still scheduled. The ATP said in a release  that it would "monitor" events in the country and would also look to reschedule the events during the season.

The ITF has also moved to cancel some lower level events in China.
