Music plays an critical role in pre-match preparation for many tennis players. Athletes use music to transport themselves into the most sacred of all places: “the zone.” While not all players strut onto Centre Court with Wimbledon-white custom headphones like Nick Kyrgios or Serena Williams, you can be sure that the rest are still bumping their favorite tunes behind the scenes.

Thanks to Pandora Playlists, fans can finally see what kind of tasty licks their favorite players are listening to during this week’s Credit One Bank Invitational in Charleston, S.C.

Puig, Puerto Rico’s first-ever Olympic gold medalist, was introduced to tennis by her mother. She enjoys going to the beach, relaxing at home, spending time with family and her dogs (Rio and Luna), reading and creative writing.

Judging by her playlist, Puig appears to be a fan of the Billboard Hot 100. Da Baby, Roddy Rich, Marshmello, Sam Smith and Kendrick Lamar comprise the first act of the playlist. But the South Florida-raised Puig rounds out her playlist with a little Latin flair, featuring tracks from Daddy Yankee and Enrique Iglesias. The My Tennis Life star is clearly a fan of the upbeat style.

The hometown favorite grew up in Charleston, and while her current level of play remains a mystery, like so many others, she will certainly feel right at home playing on Daniel Island. Rogers followed her older sister, Sabra, into tennis. Her idol growing up was Steffi Graf. A massive Tampa Bay Lightning fan, Rogers says she would have been a hockey player if she wasn’t a tennis player.

Rogers’ music undoubtedly has the most range of all the competitors this weekend. She gets down with everything from mainstream EDM like Marshmello and The Chainsmokers, to alternative/folk rock like The Strokes, Cold War Kids and Mumford and Sons, all the way to country-music stars Darius Rucker, Jason Aldean, Keith Urban and Florida Georgia Line.

Dolehide started playing tennis at age five. Her hobbies include music and traveling, as well as crushing her extremely powerful serve. She was committed to attend UCLA before deciding to turn pro. While music taste isn't the only way to describe one’s personality, Dolehide’s playlist does represent her demeanor: super chill.

Dolehide’s music features the most remixes of all the Credit One Bank Invitational players, which means she likely spends the most time surfing the music world’s most underground tracks. One song stands out among the rest though, “Nightmare” by heavy-metal band Avenged Sevenfold. This is almost assuredly her pump-up song. It’s intense.
