UPDATE: With a 6-0, 6-2, 7-5 win over Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal has won his 20th Grand Slam singles title, his 13th French Open title and his 100th match at Roland Garros—along with everything else outlined below.

When Rafael Nadal steps onto Court Philippe Chatrier against Novak Djokovic on Sunday, he’ll be a win away from history in many ways—but the one everybody’s been talking about for a while, and perhaps the one that matters the most, is tying the all-time men’s record for most Grand Slam titles.

He’ll be going for his 20th career major, which would tie Roger Federer for the most all-time.

And there’s more.

The Spaniard is an incredible 99-2 in his career at Roland Garros going into the final, so he’ll be going for his 100th career win at this event, something no one—no man or woman—has ever done. Players have reached triple digit wins at the other three Grand Slams, but never in Paris.

Also, he’s already the only player ever, male or female, to win the same major 12 times, but with another championship on the terre battue, he would become the first player in the Open Era, male or female, to win any tour-level event 13 times. Only one other player in the Open Era has won the same tour-level event 12 times—Martina Navratilova at the WTA event in Chicago.

Nadal isn’t focused on the stats, though—he’s only thinking of his looming clash with Djokovic.

“The only thing I know is to play against Novak, I need to play my best,” he said after his semifinal win over Diego Schwartzman on Friday. “Without playing my best tennis, the situation is very difficult. I know that it’s a court that I have been playing well on for such a long time, so that helps. But at the same time he has an amazing record here, too, being in the final rounds almost every single time.”

The two have played each other 55 times before, already the most times two men have played each other at tour-level in the Open Era. The Serb leads the Spaniard in the head-to-head, 29-26.

“It’s one of the toughest opponents possible, but I am here to keep trying my best,” Nadal said. “I like to play in this scenario. I know I have to make a step forward. I think I did one today. But for Sunday it’s not enough. I need to make another one. That’s what I’m looking for.

“I’m going to work hard to try to make that happen.”

Nadal is a perfect 12-0 in his career in finals at Roland Garros. He defeated Djokovic in two of those finals, winning 6-4, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 in the 2012 final and 3-6, 7-5, 6-2, 6-4 in the 2014 final.
