Donna Vekic has announced she underwent successful knee surgery this week following her run to the fourth round of the Australian Open.

Vekic fell to eventual finalist Jennifer Brady in Melbourne, receiving treatment on the knee during the contest, and then underwent the procedure in Germany.

"I had a small surgery on my right knee yesterday," she said on social media. "Already started my rehab today and look forward to being back on court soon."
