Discuss the U.S. Open with fellow fans at Your Call.
Arthur Ashe Stadium felt more like a cauldron of excitement than a hulking edifice at last year’s Open, and that was with the roof only partially constructed. It is now completed, and it’s a welcome addition to Flushing Meadows, which is undergoing a grounds-wide transformation. This year’s Open will also be interesting from a U.S. playing perspective: It could be the last for Venus Williams, and a breakout event for Jack Sock or Madison Keys. And of course there’s Serena, who’s been raising the roof in Queens for years.
