Leave it to a comedian to weed out the fraudulent fans from the real ones on the grassy grounds of SW19.

Australian comic and presenter Jon-Bernard Kairouz has been at Wimbledon all week long, producing a series of entertaining videos for his TikTok channel. From a guide on how to buy tickets to “Andy Murray vs. Climate Change” and “Novak Djokovic: Old vs. Young”, the content has been fresh.

But one upload in particular has caught fire with more than two million views. In the clip, Kalrouz asks patrons at the London major to weigh in on a specific player’s chances. Except it’s a ploy to see who knows the difference between a Wimbledon competitor and a celebrity.

When asked about “young Spaniard Selena Gomez” and her ability to go all the way, one woman answered, “I would hope so. Spain produces such wonderful tennis players don’t they?”

Another man fancied Dua Lipa’s chances to keep the hardware in England. Perhaps he saw the below tweet many moons ago.

“Look I think she can, and with her being local, she’s going to have a lot of people rooting for her.”

Kalrouz slid Caitlyn Jenner into the mix with a play on words. “She may need to transition into more of an attacking style in the next round.”

Responded a lady in a big bucket hat, “All things considered, she is a good player. I think she can, if she as you say, picks up on that attacking style. I think she’s got every chance.”

Fake it till you make it—unless you get found out first.
