Some superstar athletes from other sports like to pick up the tennis racket on occasion. Last week, former Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant showed off his skills.

Bryant took time out for photos with 2016's Wimbledon Cinderella story Marcus Willis.

And Bryant hit a few balls with promising junior prospect Taylor Johnson.

None of this Mamba hoopla was lost on CoCo Vandeweghe, who wanted in on the fun. Bryant quickly agreed.

Vandeweghe has some strong basketball ties. She grew up in an NBA family—her uncle Kiki was an all star scorer in the 1980s for the Denver Nuggets and Portland Trailblazers. Her grandfather Ernie played basketball for the New York Knicks in the early years of the NBA.

The American would certainly give Bryant a good workout. The 25-year-old matched her career-best appearance in the Wimbledon quarterfinals earlier this month, and she's ranked No. 23 going into the U.S. hard-court swing.

Vandeweghe's schedule may be busy, but odds are she'll find some time for Bryant.
