Many of the men on tour love playing video games. Daniil Medvedev is no exception, loving the hobby so much that he often refuses to bring his games to tournaments for fear they would be too distracting.

It only makes sense, then, that Medvedev would partner with a gaming company.

HyperX, the gaming peripheral company focusing on eSports, has brought on the world No. 2 as their brand ambassador. Medvedev will get his own hero illustration inspired by his gaming persona, joining a line-up of fellow athletes and gamers, including football player JuJu Smith-Schuster.

“I love playing videos games,” said Medvedev. “I escape from the real world and completely immerse myself in virtual competition.”

Medvedev has been winning off the court and on, most recently winning the National Bank Open in Toronto, where he defeated Reilly Opelka in the final.
