"In a way it's the greatest nerd-makes-good story in history," late-night TV jockey Jimmy Kimmel tells Alexis Ohanian about the latter's engagement and child-expecting with Serena Williams. Practically perched on the edge of his seat, the tech exec Ohanian can only agree:

In his verbose, gushing appearance on Kimmel's talk show, Ohanian dishes that the future is likely female – that the couple's forthcoming first child, already in vitro as of Williams' Australian Open triumph in January this year, will likely be a girl, as  "everything that little baby went through and handled like a champ, only a woman would be strong enough to take that on."

He also effuses about his fiancé's willpower and strength, well documented recently in stories that have emerged about her eight-months-along workout regimen. Ohanian describes the preparations for childbirth that he and the 35-weeks-pregnant Williams are embarking on "most important [project]" he's working on currently.

Ever one to give credit where due, he also lavishes praise on "living legend" Annie Leibovitz, the heralded veteran photographer who shot Williams' talked-about Vanity Fair cover. The interior-page images of him with Williams likely received less fanfare, but he promises to Kimmel that "as soon as they started posing for this, you could tell you were watching something amazing."

Beyond offering that their impending spawn is likely to be a girl, Ohanian also shares that he was formerly an "arrogant football snob" and has never even picked up a tennis racquet. He has gone so far as to deny a tennis lesson from his intended, Williams, as he just doesn't think she needs to see him try to make anything happen in that respect.

What is surely happening: Ohanian and Williams will have a baby in late August or September. The tech titan-in-training and audiences worldwide readily find him to be beaming with anticipation for that exclamation-mark experience, but Kimmel wasn't going to avoid ribbing him at the TV segment's end, reminding Ohanian of his day gig:

"He runs Reddit; go on it and disappear!"

Thankfully, Ohanian and Williams have hardly done that during this pregnancy journey, and their fans are eager to celebrate right alongside them.
