Dr. Sharnoff's rating: 8.1

Likes: Head's cooling system gives good ventilation even in sweltering conditions. Wear testers praised the Prestige Pro's good looks and "cool cosmetics." The six-month outsole guarantee is a plus.

Dislikes: It's a higher profile shoe that is a bit high off the ground. Players who prefer a more rounded, tacky outsole may not be as comfortable with the sharp lateral edge on the outsole.

Bottom Line: The Prestige Pro II is a well-designed, well-built shoe that offers several features. If you're big, strong and like to be on the move, you will like this aggressive shoe. However, this is a heavy shoe and may not be as comfortable for smaller, lighter players.

Dr. David G. Sharnoff is a podiatrist practicing in Shelton, Conn. He has served as TENNIS’ shoe adviser since 1986 and as a consultant to the WTA since 1989. A graduate of Ohio State, he played on the university’s varsity tennis team for four years.
