The Pitch
Like the RZR 95, the Gamma RZR 105 is built to be aerodynamic. According to the company, the RZR’s profile—which comprises a flush bumper, angled throat, tapered bridge beam and recessed grommet strip—decreases the frame’s drag, dialing up racquet-head speed and maneuverability.

How It Tested
The RZR 105 is a baseliner’s racquet through and through. Featuring tweener specifications—i.e., an even balance, extra length, open string pattern and a thicker, more rigid beam—the 105 jelled well with advanced-intermediate playtesters looking to dictate from the back of the court with well-placed spin and pop. “There was good power from the baseline,” said one 4.0 playtester with a semi-Western forehand. “It’s light, so it was easy to power through the hitting zone. And I surprisingly liked the leverage that the extra quarter inch of reach gave me.” Around the net, playtesters deemed the 105 relatively stable but not exceptional, especially in the finer aspects net play, such as touch and angle volleys. Finally, while not unwieldy, the 105, for its weight, received only passable marks in maneuverability, a tradeoff for its extra length and subsequent advantages in reach and leverage.

Bottom Line
A controllable tweener for skilled intermediate baseliners.
