Although it looks like a tame shoe at first glance, the Defier DS is built for aggression. It’s lightweight, but keeps compromises on traditional K-Swiss strengths, like support, durability and comfort, to a minimum. The shoe’s best feature is the sturdy Aösta 7.0 outsole, which challenges even the most aggressive mover to blow through it before its sixmonth guarantee expires. Along with the strong outsole comes a well-padded midsole. Our only minor gripe is that the ventilation could be better. Overall, though, the Defier DS is an excellent shoe for serious tournament players, especially those who go through outsoles more often than they break their strings.
