Ozone Tour (Standard)

Gear Review

A new carbon structure around the-O Ports is the main difference between the Ozone and original O3 racquets. It’s designed to reinforce these areas for more stability and power, and the Ozone Tour doesn’t disappoint in either aspect. The large holes around the frame in place of the grommets cut down on wind drag and give the strings more freedom to move on impact, cushioning the blow. The easy racquet-head speed, along with the open string pattern (16x18), makes creating topspin a breeze. The familiar spongy O3 feel is also there at impact. Some testers loved it, while detractors found it to be too mushy. For those players, the extra heft, stability and stiffness of the Pro version, which also has a denser string pattern (18x20), provided a more traditional response. As one tester put it, “It’s the least O3-feeling racquet I’ve played with.” The Ozone Tour is used by David Ferrer and Juan Carlos Ferrero.
