Djokovic gets new logo, Federer gets a street, and Rafa's still Rafa

Without further ado, as this top-notch troika has had plenty of that by now, here's this week's "Big 3" news ...

Roger Federer has won the city's grass-court event fives times, and now Halle, Germany, has given him his own street: Roger-Federer-Allee.

For all the typography nerds out there (or just nerds, period), Novak Djokovic released a new "ND" logo for his personal branding, and an accompanying video reveals that there's actually a lot of methodology to his not-quite madness:

Sure, it's "Smurf" blue, but clay is still clay. And Rafael Nadal is still himself. Nikolay Davydenko is no slouch, historically, though his best days appear behind him. Still, whatever problems the blue stuff give Rafa weren't overtly on display in the Madrid event's second round, in light of these highlights:

My favorite stroke here is Nadal's lunging punch volley turned drop shot, that off of Davydenko's really good pass. A stab like that has to deflate any foe's spirit.

UPDATE: Nadal wasn't the best version of himself against Fernando "Hot Sauce" Verdasco in the following round, bowing out 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 to his countryman. It's Verdasco's first career victory over Nadal. Question now: Will Rafa blame his defeat-from-the-jaws-of-victory play or the blue clay and his rejected request to wear grass-court shoes?
